Fair trade & fairly transported

Through low-emission transport on the sailing ship, we actively contribute to reducing the carbon footprint. This means that you can enjoy your coffee without harming the environment.

Container ships consume unimaginable amounts of fuel and create constant noise on and under the water. Coffees that are transported by sail are completely different: they travel across the ocean in cargo ships with low emissions and low noise levels, thus setting a precedent for climate and marine protection.

But that's not all! Our sailing coffees are fair trade, which means that the coffee farmers receive a fair price for their work. We are committed to ensuring that those who grow the coffee are also fairly paid. This means that with every sip of our sailing coffees you can help improve the lives of producers in Latin America.

What are you waiting for? Immerse yourself in the world of Café Chavalo's sailing coffees and enjoy delicious, fair trade coffees made with love and sustainability. Try them today and experience the taste of adventure!

Carola - Sailed coffee from Mexico

As captain, Carola stays on course not only on board. On land, she also consistently advocates for fairness and ecology. Carola is certain: only if coffee farmers receive good prices for good work will they be able to continue to grow the finest coffee in the future. The harvest of the Union de Productores Campesinos Tierra Indigena Zapoteca ends up in her cup. More than 200 families in the very south of Mexico have joined together to form this cooperative. They cultivate high-quality Arabica coffee and, among other things, use the sale to finance their own medical center.

Neptune - Sailed coffee from Colombia

Neptune with a trident and a coffee cup? Well, admittedly, this combination cannot be found in any ancient depiction. But why shouldn't the god of the sea also be a bon vivant? Neptune has lost his coffee heart to Colombian beans. In the Sierra Nevada in the north of the South American country, the 46 members of the Asoprocafé cooperative produce coffee in the shade of dense forests. Pesticides, fungicides and conventional fertilizers are taboo for them - the farmers work in harmony with nature.

Fiete - Sailed coffee from Nicaragua

Fiete is a sailor through and through. For him, there is nothing better than standing on the deck of a sailing ship, enjoying a hot coffee and hoping to see mermaids in the endless expanse of the ocean. His favorite coffee comes from Nicaragua. Around 250 farmers in the Boaco region have joined together to form the Tierra Nueva cooperative association. They market their harvest together and want to improve living conditions in the countryside.
