A good source of antioxidants, high in fiber and gluten-free, carob molasses has been used for centuries in Lebanon as a replacement for sugar in desserts. Our authentic and artisanal product conveys the traditional and rich flavors of Lebanese terroirs.
Carob molasses is made by soaking milled carob pods in water and slowly reducing the extracted liquid to a thick syrup.
In Lebanon, carob molasses is often used as an alternative to sugar. Carob is naturally high in fiber and is caffeine-free, which makes it ideal for people with high blood pressure. Traditionally, it is mixed with tahini (sesame paste) and eaten as a dessert accompanied by pita bread. Our carob molasses is produced by a cooperative in the Bekaa valley based on the know-how passed down from generation to generation.
