Origin
Our organic coffee from Nicaragua is a pure origin coffee from the Boaco region in the central highlands of Nicaragua. Around 250 small farmers from the "Tierra Nueva" cooperative grow high-quality Arabica coffee here on so-called shade plots - surrounded by trees, palm trees and banana plants. The forest protects the sensitive coffee plants from the sun and promotes the natural microclimate. The coffee beans ripen very slowly here and thus develop a special taste.
Tierra Nueva invests the money from the Fair Trade social fund in things like school supplies, building roads and awarding scholarships. The association places great value on diversified agriculture and regularly offers training for its members.
Gentle long-term roasting
The coffee is roasted slowly and gently, allowing its aroma to develop optimally.
Conviction offender
World trade is possible beyond profit maximization and a cut-throat mentality. Café Chavalo believes in this, as do our partners at Tierra Nueva in Nicaragua. They are committed to a solidarity-based economy that serves the well-being of all involved and treats our environment responsibly.
